  • 1782, March 3, South Carolina, Charleston: Lodge No. 190 issues a certificate to Donald McPherson stating that he had been dubbed a Knight Templar.
  • 1783, May 27, South Carolina, Charleston: Chapter of Knights of the Red Cross issues certificate to John Steele.
  • 1783, August 1, South Carolina, Charleston: Henry Beaumont receives a diploma certifying he has received the degrees of Royal Arch, Knight of Red Cross, Knight Templar, and Knight of Malta, in St. Andrew’s Lodge No. 1, Charleston. The seal is of No. 40 which was the number after Pennsylvania rewarranted No. 1 in 1783.

  • 1784, June 30, Halifax, Nova Scotia: John North “installed and dubbed” a Knight Templar by Unity Lodge No. 18, a Pennsylvania Lodge in 17th British Regt. of Foot. It left Philadelphia in 1778.
  • 1785, December 27, New York, New York: Knights Templar attend services on St. John’s Day in St. George’s Chapel.
  • 1786, January 24, Savannah Georgia: The High Priests and Officers of the Royal Arch Chapter and King, Governor and General of the Order of the Red Cross, “in an illustrious grand Chapter, (under sanction of Lodge No. 42 on the Registry of Pennsylvania,)” certify that Ulric Tobler, Past Master, was initiated “into that sublime Degree of An Excellent, Super Excellent, Royal Arch Mason” and “into the Mysteries and regularly dubbed a Knight of the Red Cross.”

I, therefore, wash my hands of them, and may God of His infinite and unbounded mercy, turn their hearts, visit them with repentance, and enter not into judgement with them.”
